Pasadena, CA - In a captivating Big Ten Conference matchup on October 12, 2024, the Minnesota Golden Gophers orchestrated a dramatic late-game comeback to secure a 21-17 victory over the UCLA Bruins at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California. 

First Half: Bruins Establish Early Dominance

The Bruins commenced the game with a commanding presence, both offensively and defensively. Quarterback Ethan Garbers led an impressive opening drive, culminating in a 5-yard touchdown pass to tight end Hudson Habermehl, granting UCLA an early 7-0 lead. The Bruins’ defense complemented this effort by stifling Minnesota’s initial offensive attempts, forcing consecutive punts. In the second quarter, UCLA extended their lead to 10-0, courtesy of a 34-yard field goal by kicker Mateen Bhaghani.

With just under seven minutes remaining, Garbers connected with wide receiver J.Michael Sturdivant on a spectacular 42-yard touchdown pass, reclaiming the lead for UCLA at 17-14. However, Minnesota showcased resilience in their final possession. Brosmer meticulously guided the team downfield, culminating in a 4-yard touchdown pass to Taylor with a mere 27 seconds left on the clock, sealing the Golden Gophers’ victory.
